A woman who moved into a shed in her parents' backyard proudly showed off her hippie hideaway that is rent-free and just steps away from her actual home.
Aniah Warne, 21, from Boise, Idaho, gave a tour of her one-room abode on TikTok after a viewer commented that she 'lives in a f**king shed,' adding, 'I love this so much.'
'I do live in a shed. This is my shed,' the college student said with a smile. Warne panned the camera around her parents' backyard, which features stone walkways and plenty of lush greenery. She pointed out that the shed is right next to their home.
'So I have this step right here that is like a little porch, and this wall opens up,' she explained, showing how it gives her a view of the outdoor bamboo plant from her bed.
She also has an entryway door on the side of the shed that she uses to access the room, which is about the size of a small studio apartment.
The space is eclectically decorated with a tapestry hanging above the bed, plenty of plants, floating shelves, posters, and a salt lamp. 'So I have my desk, a TV, my bed, and then this is the view sitting in my bed,' she said of the setup.
'And then I have my nightstand with essentials, a cute little chair, plant, shelves, fridge. I have this mirror to look at outfits and then this is my closet.'
The small walk-in is a decent size for one person and features both shelves and bars to hang her clothes, but it was packed with stuff.
'It's quite clean right now,' she joked of the mess. 'So, yeah. That's my shed,' she concluded the video, which has been viewed more than 1.5 million times. Warne confirmed that she was a fan of the living arrangement in the caption, writing, 'I love my rent-free shed.'
The only things missing were a bathroom and kitchen, but she noted in the comments that she just uses the ones in her parents' house. Warne answered some viewers' questions about her pseudo-apartment in a follow-up clip after someone asked her about the 'bug situation.'
'Honestly, I don't have an issue with spiders or mosquitos or flies,' she said. 'I have the door and the window open right now, and there is not a single fly in here. I do have to be concerned about leaving food out, though, because of ants.'
People were also curious about the temperature in the shed, but she explained that it was equipped with an air conditioner and heater.
